It was picture day this week. The Mother managed to make me look pretty good, wouldn’t you say? Maybe she should become an elementary school photographer.
I made The Bigs beef stew for dinner this week. We ate it before going to the Tower Theater…
for a ‘late’ night showing of Calm Beneath Castles. The movie ended at 9 pm. I thought The Mother wasn’t going to make it! Not me. I loved watching all the great skiing. I am so ready for the snow to fly.
I’ll be ready too, because I had all the hardware in my leg removed this Thursday. Here I am pre-op. Nice hat.
Here is what they removed from my leg (not the quarter…that’s just to show you how very long that plate is!)
Post-op, the nurses spoiled me.
Check out the ‘wheelchair’ they rolled me out in. Awesome!
I brought my guys for morale support. They were waiting for me in the car.
Nan and Pop made sure I had the proper nourishment for a speedy recovery.
And Uncle Chris made sure I had plenty to do, so all in all, it wasn’t that bad.
And now, Nana is here!
We’ve been busy making cookies, doing crosswords,
and carving pumpkins.
With all that hardware remove you should be able to fly. Awesome pumpkin guys.
That was some plate in your leg. I’m amazed at how you were able to climb and run and jump and bike with that.
You sure know how to tire out the “mother”.
Your school picture was great and that’s because you’re such a handsome boy. I would have ironed your shirt first though 😂😂😂
Fun carving pumpkins with Nana. I’m sure you’ll have a great visit. Enjoy😘
Oh my! What an ordeal but it’s “out and over” and better than new. I never heard of Calm Beneath the Castle but after looking it up on the Webb (lol) I can feel the inspiration…all the way from Miami! Love, Uncle Jim
Seeing all that hardware in person made me so glad it’s all been removed from your leg, Em! And you’re walking so well while this final healing process is going on!
Carving my pumpkin was a challenge for me, but it’s finally done and sitting on the porch next to the better carving job!
One of my wishes came true…. Em’s delicious brat and sauerkraut dinner was served last evening—-yum!
