Spoken Moto

Finally a spring skiing day. Mom and Dad finally let me get some real skiing in.
I really like going fast.
It's almost as exciting as climbing on furniture. Tabletops, high chairs, you name it. I like to give a little 'woo hoo' when I get to the top. That really gets mom and dad's attention!
The weather was too good to stay put this weekend. We road our bikes to meet Dr. Chris at Spoken Moto for beers and the food carts. The pork shoulder sandwich was pretty awesome.
We were having so much fun we decided to hit Crux on the way home. A big dog knocked me over there. I was super brave and got up and petted him.
Mom said I am going to put us in the poor house because of all the strawberries I eat so she made me help plant some in the yard. I think she is delusional and is going to be very disappointed but I didn't tell her. I just helped. It's good to have hope.
I really like climbing on things. Mom and Dad keep saying this new habit will not end well, but I just ignore them. They are total scaredy cats. Did I tell you how the big dog knocked me down and I just got up at petted him?

The week started out pretty good. I had lots of fun with Yaya and Papa. Things went downhill after they left.
Hello? Hello? Is there a grandparent there I can talk to? Please come rescue me from the bigs.
They make me clear the table,
clean up my messes (powdered sugar is hard to pick up),
and aren't amused by my lack of table manners.
As always, the bigs couldn't keep me down for long. It was too beautiful outside to let their rules ruin my fun.
It was so nice out we were able to eat dinner outside. OK, mom and dad ate outside. I ran around like a crazy man and stood up in swivel chairs because I like to live dangerously. No hands. Emmett rules!
We did some spring skiing and I ate some slush and mud. Yum.
We hit the park, and I did some serious swinging.
And, we went to Smith Rock for a hike. Dad suggested I go on a diet. I wonder why?
This is a picture of the monkey face. Can you see the monkey?
Mom was all smiles because she didn't have to carry the backpack.
It was beautiful.
That's all I got for this week folks!

Check it out. YaYa and Papa came for a visit. Can you believe how lucky I am? So many people have come to visit me. It is so nice to hang out with someone besides Mom and Dad. They are so lame.
For example, Easter. They have NEVER mentioned it. What is wrong with them?! It is a really big deal and they have been hiding it from me! Can you believe that I might not have had bunny mouse ears...
or a bunny ballon that was bigger than me
if I was left alone with them? My goodness. How did they ever become parents? Apparently the bunny ears aren't even the best part. YaYa just told me I get to look for plastic eggs filled with CHEESY CRACKERS and other cool stuff.
My god this is going to be great!
Ears? Check. Huge bunny ballon? Check. Basket? Check. I am ready to kill this. Time me Dad.
The ears and ballon were slowing me down. Once I lost them I was an egg finding machine.
I totally earned a big dinner. Asparagus and ricotta tart.
Honey baked pork roast, spanakopita, and tart.
Ahhhh...that was good!
Time for bed? What about that cake I saw you frosting? That's for bigs only? My guess is that is mom and dad's rule. YaYa and Papa would never be so cruel.
Also for bigs only - a gorgeous sunny day on the slopes.

The usual week - skiing, baking, eating, and making messes.
Driving practice:
Post-ski parking-lot ski:
Emmett making his weekly pizza:
He makes a mess, but at least he helps clean up,
or maybe not.

I'm pretty cool. Hands in the pockets cool.
Nan is too.
Arnold Schwarzenegger said 'you can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets'. Whatever Arnie, whatever.
Mom decided it was OK to wait outside for 40 minutes for a seat at 10 Barrel for dinner. It was really cold. Nan and Dad were freezing. I was OK because I had my hat. Pop was OK because he has more Patagonia puffy jackets than Yvon Chouinard.
Another night we went to dinner at Drake (mom made a reservation this time). I was in a pretty good mood before we left.
But when we got to the restaurant I really couldn't sit still. Mom and Dad were not impressed.
Shrimp and grits.
Duck special.
Bendie burger.
Even though I was bad - we got gelato. Pop gave me a lot.
Mom thought it would be nice to get a picture in front of Mirror Lake. Doesn't she realize that would require me to stand still?!
One day, Nan and I went for an adventure while everyone else went skiing. We all had a good day.
Nan and Pop would 'spring me' from school in the afternoon and we would go to the park or for walks. They are pretty awesome. Wonder why mom is so lame.
Did I mention I am hands in the pockets cool?
On Nan and Pop's last night I wanted to make them a special dinner. I made them artichoke, sun-dried tomato, bacon, and pesto pizza.
I also made Nan one more big mess to clean up...
Dad and I got a lot of good skiing in this weekend. Today was particularly good with fast snow and bright blue skies.
I worked up quite a hunger. Nothing an entire avocado couldn't fix...
