I am FOUR

I am four. I got lots of great presents. I had construction decorations at my party,
including an indestructible dump truck piñata (not sure where Mom bought that thing), and
(just like I asked for) an American flag birthday cake.
But do you know what the very best part was?
MEERA! We had so much fun.
We hit that piñata for probably 30 minutes.
Not even Sophie could break it.
We finally gave up and tore it to pieces with our hands.
If your cake looks like this
You should probably throw on your Captain America costume, right?

I had a big race this weekend, so I've been training pretty hard, mixing in some strength work work with my usual swimming, biking, and running:
Thursday, we headed to Forest Grove for Xterra Portland and the ZOO! Dinner Thursday was at Bites. I had dumplings:
Mom had the Donburi spicy pork and kimchi bowl:
Dad had coconut risotto with prawns:
Hotels rule! I got to sleep in a big-boy bed:
Friday, we went to the lake and rode the bike course. There was a little rain and a little sun:
Did I mention that hotels rule? There was a pool! I did a lot of swimming:
Friday night dinner at McMenamin's:
I had my very own pepperoni pizza:
Mom had the Green with Envy pizza:
Dad had the Garden Primavera pasta:
Saturday was race day. My race was, of course, the main event, but since we were there, Dad did a race too:
Lining up for the start:
The first leg involved running to the water and "swimming" out to touch the unicorn. The big kids pushed the unicorn out further from shore. It was pretty deep by the time I got to it:
But, I got it and headed for my bike and the second leg:
Next I was off on the run to the finish:
The final leg was a slip-and-slide:
Saturday night, we headed to Kama'aina for Hawaiian food. I had pork and rice:
Mom had pork and poke:
Dad had a little bit of everything, including teriyaki Spam:
Some strawberry snow for dessert:
Sunday was zoo day! In addition to the wild animals, they had goats:
and barrel horses:
and safari jeeps:
and bronze lions:

Twisted Twister

The Bigs and I went to Munch and Music down by the river on Thursday. We had some food truck dinner and listened to the Wailers.
Oh, and there were BOUNCY HOUSES!
The Twisted Twister (was awesome):
We even had ice cream. You guessed it. I had pink.
The Bigs say that on occasion, I am actually helpful. Whatever, Bigs. I get things done. I make dinner:
I sand decks and porches:
I run the blower:
I stain:
Did I say, I make dinner?
You'd be nowhere without me.
