23 pictures?

Technical difficulty this week. Only 23 of the approximately 230 pictures mom took were on the camera when she downloaded them this evening. Good thing I am so adorable and all pictures of me are fantastic. I can even rock a curly mullet and look cute.
I'm tired of this baby sliding with you guys pulling me. I want to go on my own.
That's more like it.
I love Emmett's pasta. Not only is it delicious - it makes a wonderful facial masque.
Mom! Do something about your hair. You are embarrassing me!
I know I have 100 books (not an exaggeration - mom counted them Friday night - not sure what her problem is). I still want you to read 'Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site' for the 50th time this week.
What did I tell you people? So cute - even a picture shortage can't stop me. Emmett rules!

Mr. M has hats, and he likes to wear them.
Arriving at the Tree on Em's first-and-a-half birthday (AKA Valentine's Day):
Where's Emmett?
Going-out clothes and going-out hat - Mr. M, on his way to Crux:
Gimme five, Em.
Yeah, I took your fork. What are you gonna do about it?
With a belly full of Crux beer, Em just had to have gelato. He fed most of it to Mom:
Time for bed:
Time to get up:
I am Emmett, Master of the Animals!
Why to the bigs always put my ingredients all the way in the back?
Snowy day of skiing (napping in a backpack):
Hey, Em, do a headstand.

I got mail! Nan sent me some fancy new shoes...
and Nana sent me two new books. I thought I saw cookies in the package too - but they disappeared. I bet the bigs ate them and didn't share. They are like that.
I probably should lay off the cookies anyway.
When you do as much cooking as I do, you are bound to put a little bit of weight on.
The more observant of you will notice the bruise on my forehead. Don't blame my bigs. They try their hardest. They are just incompetent and let me trip all the time. They try to make up for their inability with fun outdoor activities.
It works sometimes.
When my teeth aren't hurting me, I am very silly.
Mom and Dad made Costa Rican breakfast for us this morning. Beans and rice, steak, eggs, and toast. Yum yum yum!
You'll notice yet another bruise on my forehead in the next picture. You're probably thinking - my god - those people are terrible parents. While I can't disagree, this was all me. I get going and I don't look down so I don't see big people's feet. This time I tripped on dad's foot and went flying into the corner of a chair. I hardly cried. I'm wicked tough.
I know I'm going on and on here, but it was an exciting week. My carseat got moved to the forward position. I LOVE it. I don't kick and scream and freak out when I have to get in the car anymore. Pop told my bigs to switch the seat around when he was here in DECEMBER. The bigs should listen to their bigs more often.
I also learned to climb stairs:
And, slide down on my belly:
Apparently this was the view when we were skiing today. I was napping, so I missed it.
Wait, so you made us wait because you were taking a picture of the view? Geez Mom!
What is double dipping?
What do you mean this is my hummus now?
I know - another sled picture. It's just so awesome.
Phew. I think I got away from mom. She was really mad that I was (a) eating a brownie and (b) eating it while running through the house. I think I'm in the clear now though.
Better finish it fast before she finds me.
It's 5:30 people! Time to make dinner. Do I have to do everything around here? I can't even reach the stove top! Fine, I'll just stand on my high chair.

I don't like banana bread, but I make it for my bigs to have with coffee. They are really high maintenance.
They even make me use the Silver Palate. Sheesh.
I love toast.
My teeth hurt, but sitting with dad makes me feel better.
I do not understand why we haven't gone skiing yet. It is Saturday and it is NOON. What is going on!? We are usually there by 9 am. Someone better take me outside.
OH, I get it. Mom and Dad are not slackers. They were waiting for Luminaria. On the Virginia Meissner Sno Park website they describe it as 'a magical night of skiing by the light of hundreds of luminaries'. It was magical.
Mom and I got ready for luminaria and worked on 'nice touch'. Apparently that is not the same thing as slapping.
On the way to the shelter it was dusk and you could barely see the luminaria.
When we got to the shelter there was a snow sculpture that had slides
and there were fires. I did NOT want to leave.
The ski back was much darker but very beautiful.
