We went on vacation. In the pictures that follow, any resemblance to good behavior is purely coincidental.
Day 1: Slide Creek Campground in the Strawberry Mountains.
Day 2: Going on an overnight backpacking trip. You may notice Dad is not smiling. Perhaps I had something to do with that.
I carried my backpack for about 1/10 of a mile. The Bigs were NOT impressed.
Strawberry Lake.
Strawberry Falls.
Little Strawberry Lake.
Day 3: Driving to Ketchum.
We didn't quite make it to Ketchum that day. Luckily we saw a National Forest sign and a 'campground' off Deer Creek Road between Hailey and Ketchum.
Day 4: We found our home for the next eight nights.
OMG. The mountain biking here was great. I road the Lodge Loop over and over.
Gondola ride up to the top of Sun Valley. Mom cried a little when she paid $50 for us to go up once. She mumbled something about how mom and dad ride their bikes up mountains, not take lifts. Whatever, Mom. Why doesn't Mt. Bachelor have these things?
I use my 'inja' skills to make s'mores.
They had a pump track too. View was better.
And they had SPLASH PADS. These things are almost as awesome as gondolas.
Checking out Ketchum.
Hike up to Baker Lake.
The Bigs, Emmett, Papa Dog, and Puppy. The whole family.
Sunset at Galena Summit.
Will you please let me take the pics? We might actually get a good one.
Mountain bike ride near Hailey.
The Imperial/Greenhorn Gulch loop via mountain bike.
Canoeing at Redfish Lake.
Day 13: On the way home. Picnic in Dayville.
The Bigs are confused about the meaning of Labor Day. We spent the weekend laboring on a new privacy wall. I think we were supposed to be at a bbq or something. Upside, there should be panda bears stopping by our backyard soon. They love bamboo.
